We keep this simple because we collect almost nothing:
- No accounts, no cookies set by us, no tracking pixels.
- When you click "View deal" we record an anonymous event (which ball, which retailer, the price per ball, and whether you arrived from a link we posted) so we know which listings are useful. It contains no identifier of any kind — we cannot tell one visitor from another.
- If you use the ball recommender, we record which combination of answers was chosen and which balls we suggested — again with no identifier, and deliberately without the referrer, so the two can never be put together. It tells us whether the advice is any good; it cannot tell us who asked.
- The recommender's results show a photo of each ball, loaded directly from where the retailer keeps its pictures: eBay; Shopify (for Affordable Golf and Major Golf Direct); Clubhouse Golf; Salesforce (for Callaway Golf); Decathlon; and Clickgolf. Those hosts therefore see your IP address, the same as any image on any page — we send them no referrer, so they are not told which page you are on, and they are told nothing about you. Every other image on this site is served by us.
- We count page views using Cloudflare Web Analytics: no cookies, no local storage, no fingerprinting, and nothing that follows you to other sites. It tells us how many people visited and which site linked here — never who.
- Affiliate networks (Awin, eBay Partner Network, Amazon Associates) set their own cookies after you click through to a retailer, on the retailer's site, so the retailer knows the visit came from us. See their privacy policies for details.
- Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) keeps standard server logs for security and operations.
